How does JCA work?

JCA is the communal hub of the NSW and ACT Jewish communities, connecting the needs of our community with the services that our 23 member organisations provide in the areas of aged care, community care, engagement & culture, education, history & heritage, social justice & outreach and security & advocacy.

Consisting of a professional office, many passionate and dedicated volunteers and a whole community of supporters, JCA’s role incorporates planning, engagement, fundraising and facilitation to secure our local community’s vibrant future.

..that every Jew has the right to live with dignity, with security and with the inherent right to be educated and guided along a Jewish path.
..to advance the quality of Jewish life and to reach out to every corner of our community.
..to amplify the scope of communal facilities and services, to broaden our field of endeavour and to increase the vitality of our Jewish life.
..on our fellow Jews to assist us in our vision.
“We are committed to connecting our community …
… today, tomorrow and forever.”

Vision

To ensure a sustainable, vibrant and secure Jewish community.

Mission

To fundraise, plan and facilitate initiatives in collaboration with our constituents and donors, to meet the needs of our local community.

Mandate

To serve in the best interests of the NSW and ACT Jewish communities through the raising and allocation of funds to support outstanding and cost effective programs and social infrastructure. This can and will only be achieved through effective fundraising and collaboration with our constituents, donors, volunteers and other community stakeholders.

Planning

JCA engages in planning activities including research, consultation and analysis to ensure our community needs are effectively and cost efficiently catered for today, as well as to ascertain and prepare for the communal needs of tomorrow.
Armed with strategic planning expertise, JCA makes the big decisions that require a collaborative effort regarding the welfare of our community.

Member organisation funding requirements are weighed against the resources available and strategies are created to streamline inefficiencies in communal operations, processes and structures to guarantee that every dollar raised provides maximum benefit.

Engagement & Fundraising

As a not-for-profit, JCA relies on the generosity of our community supporters. Our donors and sponsors  play a pivotal role in helping us achieve our vision of ensuring a sustainable, vibrant and secure Jewish community, today, tomorrow, forever.

JCA seeks to inspire financial support through a variety of fundraising initiatives engaging members of our community across social and financial demographics, each in their own unique way.

Facilitation

Our community is a complex network of interactions and relationships. JCA is the key ‘connector’ for our community. We provide the support framework that enables our member organisations to more effectively engage with our community. Beyond funding, we create channels for communication and shared-resourcing and we deliver opportunities for members of our community to connect with each other in meaningful and enriching ways.

These connections build community. A community that is strong, safe and cohesive.
