David Balkin - JCA President

David is the President of the JCA Board of Governors. He has previously been an ex-member of the Allocations Committee and past Chairman of the Priorities and Planning Committee. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, David went on to gain his Masters in Business Administration at Harvard University. He later became a senior partner at McKinsey and Company. He is a former Board Member, Treasurer and Vice President of Moriah College.

Jillian Segal, AM -  Vice President and Planning Committee Chairperson

Jillian is a Director of the Australian Securities Exchange and the National Australia Bank. She is also President of the Administrative Review Council, on the Council of the University of New South Wales, the Advisory Council of the Centre for Social Impact and on the Board of the Sir John Monash Foundation. Jillian has been Deputy Chairman of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and also Chairman of the Banking and Financial Services Ombudsman Board. In addition to serving as Chair of the Communal Planning Committee, Jillian is a member of the JCA Board of Governors and a Vice-President of JCA. She has also served as a Vice-President of the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies and is Deputy President of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry. From 1997 – 1999, Jillian served on the JCA Allocations Committee, becoming Chairman in 1999. Jillian was awarded an AM in 2005 for services to the business community.

Peter Philippsohn, OAM - Vice President and Appeal Chairman

Peter is the Vice President and Appeal Chairman of JCA. Peter is currently a Director of Sandpit Consulting and has previously served on a number of company boards, including APPCON and Pollak Partners. Peter was the founding president and remains a life Governor of Mount Sinai College. He chaired the college's successful 2006 Capital Appeal.
In addition to chairing the JCA Status Committee and his role on the JCA Communal Planning Committee, Peter has served on the JCA Building & Planning, Allocations and Appeal Committees. He was also a Trustee of the JCA council of Presidents from 1981-1984.
In 2006, Peter was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for service to the Jewish community, particularly as a contributor to the establishment and development of Mount Sinai College and through the Jewish Communal Appeal. 

Ian Sandler - Chief Executive Officer

Ian Sandler is the Chief Executive Officer of the JCA and ex-officio on all committees. Ian has a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Accountancy degrees from the University of Witwatersrand and began his professional life as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa. Prior to relocating to Australia in 2001, Ian was the Managing Director of Avis Southern Africa Limited’s Tourism and Leisure Division and the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of RCI SA and RCI Pacific. In addition to being the CEO of the JCA, Ian currently holds a number of communal positions such as President of NSW Maccabi Golf.
