JCA has two types of Endowments:

1. Named Project Fund

Creating a Named Project Fund allows you to fund a special project or program. By doing this you will also be demonstrating your lasting commitment to Jewish continuity.

You will also have sole naming rights.  You may, for example, wish to name the Fund in memory of a loved one.

With your permission, your Endowment gift will be publicly and appropriately acknowledged.

The minimum donation to establish a Named Project Fund is $500,000. A capital base of this magnitude will generate an annual income of between $40,000 and $50,000 which is the minimum required to fund a meaningful project.

This income will be used to pay for a new project or it might be used to expand an existing project or program provided by one of JCA’s constituent organisations. Your role as one of the Fund’s Trustees gives you the opportunity to select which programs or projects your Fund will support.

Your Fund will be promoted through the JCA Directory of Endowment Funds to all member organisations. This will ensure that those who are most in need will have access to these funds.

A customised annual report will be provided to update you on the progress of the Fund and the various projects or programs your gift is supporting.  More frequent updates can be provided on request.  You will also have the opportunity to meet the beneficiaries should you so desire.

2. JCA Specified Funds

JCA Specified Funds are intended to support major projects that have been identified as very high community priorities. The scale of these major projects makes it likely that many families, contributing over a number of years, will be needed before there is sufficient funding to provide the annual income necessary to pay the year to year costs of the specified project.

Clearly a JCA Specified Fund could become a Named Project Fund if a single family or small group of families were sufficiently generous and passionate about the project to fully fund it.

We expect that with the passage of time JCA Specified Funds will be established to support major projects in the following areas:

  • Education
  • Aged Care
  • Community care and support (formerly known as welfare services)
  • Cultural and Community Development
  • Communal Security
  • Youth
  • Disability

Examples of these major projects include providing security for our community and its infrastructure, supporting families to attend our day schools, and putting in-place a variety of services for the disabled members of our community.

The minimum donation to a Specified Projects Fund is $20,000.  Your donation will be one of a number of donations made to the Fund by donors with similar interests.  The income from the Fund will be used to fund programs provided by JCA’s member organisations.

An annual report will be provided to inform you of the progress of the Fund and the various projects and programs your gift has supported.

Trustees with appropriate experience will be appointed by the JCA Executive. The Chairperson will be a member of JCA’s Allocations or Planning Committee.
