JewishCare
JewishCare (originally Australian Jewish Welfare Society) was formed in 1936 to help rescue Jews from Nazi Germany. Since then the role of JewishCare has widened and it now provides a comprehensive “whole of life range of programs and services” Today, as the community's major service provider, JewishCare maintains 6 service areas which in total help over 4,000 people every year or 1 in 10 members of our community. Aged Care at Home - Centre based services, Home Support and Healthy Ageing programs - support people to remain active, independent and living in their own homes. Special services are provided for Holocaust survivors. In partnership with Montefiore Home, JewishCare also provides Day Care and Positive Ageing options at the Burger Centre at Randwick Disability services - Supported Accommodation and Community Living programs, Supported Employment (Print 35). The exciting new Connexions, Pathways and Futures and Circles of Support programs assist people with disability to identify their future visions and dreams, then provides the support needed to turn these into reality. Children and Family services - Family Support, Chessed Bereavement support, Big Brother Big Sister, Family Dispute Resolution, Family to Family Respite Care, Prison Outreach Mental Health services - Personal Support Program assists people with multiple barriers to enter the workforce, Social groups for people with (or at risk of being diagnosed with) mental health conditions, Community Outreach for those with long term psychiatric conditions Community Support - Information, referral (including FirstCall JewishCare), case management across all areas, education and community building.
