Wolper Jewish Hospital

Wolper Jewish Hospital is the only non-profit Jewish Hospital in Australia, Wolper’s aim is to provide the highest standard of medical, palliative care and rehabilitation services to all members of the community within a framework of Jewish culture, religious and dietary requirements.  Wolper also aims to cater to the health and welfare needs of the community by providing quality hospital services, community health programs, community assistance and other services. In keeping with the Hospital's Jewish heritage, the palliative care facility is a warm, caring and reassuring environment allowing patients to maintain their dignity in an atmosphere of traditional values.
         
The Hospital celebrates all Jewish festivals and holidays, providing patients with hope as life and celebration continue around them. Rabbis from different synagogues and schoolchildren visit the Hospital’s patients regularly.
 
Wolper sponsors a variety of Community Programs including a Genetic Carrier Testing program of special value to Ashkenazim couples. The Gift of Life Australia encourages potential donors to register on the Australian Bone Marrow Registry. The Wolper Well-Being Program provides information evenings to the community on relevant health topics.  The Wolper Outreach Program assists the frail aged to remain independent.  The Wolper Cancer Genetics Program facilitates education, testing and support for patients with cancers that are more prevalent in the Jewish Community.

Wolper Jewish Hospital has provided assistance to Hatzolah in the form of an emergency response vehicle. Hatzolah is known as "Community first responders", and is now an established medical emergency response service.
